Where It All Started
In mid-summer 2021, a priest and a colleague from a Detroit parish embarked on a mission to establish a supportive dinner group for priests, inspired by changes within the Church. This group aimed to address the challenges facing priests approaching retirement, including financial instability, medical needs, and housing concerns. They were deeply committed to their mission, believing it was guided by unwavering prayer and discernment.
Witnessing the number of priests who had dedicated their lives to sacrificial service now facing retirement fueled their determination. With the Blessed Mother’s guidance, their prayerful efforts culminated in the founding of the Vianney Foundation in June 2022. This nonprofit serves as a beacon of hope, dedicated to supporting priests in need and ensuring a dignified and secure retirement residence for those who have given so much.
